People are flooding members of Congress with so many e-mails that they are overloading the House of Representatives' primary Web site, http://www.house.gov.
Congressional technicians warned House lawmakers on Thursday that the Web site may be slow or unresponsive because of the large volume of e-mail being sent to members.
The spike in e-mail traffic comes amid boisterous town hall meetings across the country debating President Barack Obama's plan to overhaul the nation's health care system.
A spokesman for the chief administrative officer at the Capitol was not immediately available to comment.
