It's official! Burris makes 3rd bid for governor

It's the third time around for Roland Burris and he is anticipating sweet victory in the race for Illinois governor.

Burris announced his run for governor on Sunday with promises to combat poverty, crime, education and employment, among others once he takes office.

"Illinois has changed and it will no longer be the state of BIG spending and business as usual," he said to a crowd of supporters in his Chatham home.

"The next governor of this state will need to be a seasoned leader who is not afraid to face the many unknown challenges that undoubtedly will lie ahead."
